LA BIENNALE DE DANSE DE LYON

In September 2025, the Keir Foundation is offering five International Travel Fellowships for artists to attend the Lyon Dance Biennale and its programs, FORUM and FOCUS.

The Keir Foundation has long supported international cultural interchange, both incoming and outgoing. This support has been across art forms and recently, included international delegate programs as part of the Keir Choreographic Award and incoming curatorial programs for the Artspace International Curators Program. These fellowships are offered in partnership with Critical Path, Sydney.

The Keir International Travel Fellowships is part of a larger program enabling Australian artists to engage with the international dance world. The Foundation will shortly launch a commissioning program aimed at developing new and stronger international collaborations.

The Lyon Dance Biennale is the largest dance event in the world. The 2025 edition will present a program of 42 performances over three weeks and will also host a new discursive public program, FORUM, designed as an experimental international platform (co-imagined by curators/artists from 5 non-EU regions) inviting artists to lead, share, and innovate new discursive avenues of and for choreographic thought and practice, while addressing contemporary societal, and ecological upheavals.

FORUM is part of FOCUS, the Biennale’s international delegates program, attended by over 650 professionals. This year, FOCUS will host an Australian showcase, expanding on the presence of the FORUM Australian invited artists, Marrugeku, and of their guests.
